Ryan Schumacher

Ryan Schumacher (they/them) is the Education Outreach Assistant for the Center for East Asian Studies at KU. They have completed General Sciences and Liberal Arts associate degrees from JCCC, during which they also spent time in Japan on a study tour studying Japanese language and culture. They also have an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a minor in Anthropology from K-State as well as a master's degree in Secondary Education for Social Studies from K-State. 

Currently, they are pursuing an East Asian Languages and Cultures degree at KU with a double language concentration in Mandarin and Korean. 

They are passionate about improving the quality and quantity of cultural and linguistic opportunities for students, especially in rural communities.
