International Research Travel Fund


Overview

The International Research Travel Fund provides up to $2,500 to support one KU graduate OR undergraduate student traveling in East Asia during Summer 2024 for activities directly related to master’s/doctoral research* or to an undergraduate research project on East Asia. You must complete research and return to the United States before August 14, 2024.

*If you are a graduate student this award cannot be used in combination with the CEAS Graduate Scholarly Development Fund (Research Travel Grant). However, you may apply for both.

APPLICATIONS OPEN: November 15

APPLICATIONS CLOSE: January 15

How to Apply

You will need the following documentation for the online application (at the bottom of the page):

  1. a one-page single-spaced statement that addresses the purpose of your research travel. It should include your proposed research plan (e.g., fieldwork, archival research) and how the research will enhance your research, academic, and career development.
  2. a letter of endorsement of the proposed research by your faculty/academic advisor, and
  3. an itemized cost estimate for this trip.*

*Itemized cost estimate include any of the following costs as applicable: all transportation, lodging, registration fees, miscellaneous costs, and the total requested.
