Biography

Amy Quirin is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at the University of Kansas. She has an M.A. in TESOL and a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Kansas. Amy has taught ESOL and History to secondary students in the U.S. and Costa Rica and has taught ESOL and Education courses at Washburn University and the University of Kansas. She currently works as a Research Assistant at the Achievement and Assessment Institute and as the Education and Evaluation Assistant at the Center for East Asian Studies, both at the University of Kansas. Her research interests include foreign language education, language acquisition, developing intercultural awareness and competence in students, and web-based platforms for instructional materials exchange.
