Biography

Yuan-Hsi Chao is a participant in the summer internship program at the Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Kansas. With over three years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese at three U.S. colleges, Yuan-Hsi is passionate about sharing East Asian language and culture with a broader audience. His academic training in History and Art History enables him to approach cultural topics with a comparative perspective. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art History at the Kress Foundation Department of Art History at KU, with a primary research focus on 19th-century Chinese painting.
